(More customer reviews)Sigh. I purchased the XPMP3H1 because I really enjoy listening to XM when walking outside. I have an Inno, but the quality of the Belkin headphones was so poor (common issue) that I was replacing them every six weeks. When I researched this new model it seemed that the headphones didn't have the same problem. Two weeks after using them, they don't work. I get the message that there is no signal, and to please go to a recorded program.
So - I am on the phone right now as I am writing this (and have been for over an hour) trying to find out how to return the headphones. The package insert says not to contact or return to Amazon, but to contact XM. After being transferred twice, XM said they can't help me but that they would transfer me to the manufacturer - Pioneer. After waiting on hold at Pioneer I find out that Pioneer doesn't make the headphones - Belkin does. So, I get transferred back to XM to get the number for Belkin. After going through my whole story for a fourth time, a gentleman who spoke very poor english assured me that if he were in my shoes, he would also be upset, and that for me to know that he was there for me, "OK"? Honest to god. I am trying to return headphones, not grieving the loss of a loved one. I got so angry that I decided to return the portable XM unit, cancel my subscription and return the headphones. Well, I have thus far received the "return authorization number" to get a refund for the XPMP3H1. I am on hold to cancel the subscription. And I am guessing that I will give up on returning the headphones and absorb the $35 loss.
My bad - I have had an XM subscription for one of my vehicles for several years, and I have encountered their unbelievably poor customer service in the past. I should have known better - I guess I'll dig out my Ipod and download a book to listen to.
UPDATE - Despite the insert saying to contact XM if the product is defective, they deny they have any responsibility for the headphones and had me contact Pioneer. Pioneer says Belkin makes them. I called Belkin, they do not manufacture the headphones. I am going to try returning via Amazon.
